Mass Production of National Electric Trains Started

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made important statements about the national electric train. Noting that the mass production of "national electric trains" suitable for 160 kilometers per hour has begun, Karaismailoğlu announced that the first national electric train has carried out a 10 thousand kilometer test drive and the second train has started test drives.

InnoTrans, the railway transportation technology fair in Germany, was held in 2022. The fair, which was postponed twice due to the Kovid-19 outbreak, opened its doors to visitors with the theme of "sustainable mobility" this year. To the fair; While 56 companies from 2 countries participated, Turkey was among the participants. Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, who attended the opening of the fair, visited the stands of the Ministry and TÜRESAŞ. Karaismailoğlu, who also held bilateral meetings, made a statement to the journalists. Karaismailoğlu said that the fair is one of the largest organizations in the rail systems industry. Pointing out that the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) and its companies, as well as many Turkish companies exhibit their products here, Karaismailoğlu stated that there is a 834-year-old railway culture in Turkey. Pointing out that Turkey has entered a railway-based investment period, Karaismailoğlu said, “From now on, our needs in the railway sector will increase much more. There are very important studies in our country on the development of high technology products in the railway sector. We are here strongly because InnoTrans is one of the most important organizations in the field of cooperation for the railway sector, as well as to introduce the products we have developed to the world.”

WE STARTED THE MASS PRODUCTION OF NATIONAL ELECTRIC TRAINS

Karaismailoğlu, who noted that the construction of 4 kilometers of railways in Turkey continues and will continue to increase, emphasized that the railway sector is important not only in passenger transportation but also in logistics. Karaismailoğlu said that “railways are indispensable especially in reducing carbon emissions, in green energy and in establishing connections in the supply chain” and pointed out that the mass production of "national electric trains" suitable for 500 kilometers per hour has begun.

Karaismailoğlu stated that the first national electric train carried out a test drive of 10 thousand kilometers and the test drive of the second train began, and continued as follows:

“Hopefully, we aim to start transporting passengers by getting the certificate in the coming months. Then the second and third sets are already working on the tape. Its continuation is the design work of our national electric train, which has a speed of 225 kilometers, and is about to end. There is also significant progress there. Apart from this, our organization and design works continue to produce trains with speeds of 250 kilometers and above in Turkey. Of course, this is a very large field. Indeed, we are in a rush to find out how we can do these things without shaking the financial burden of our country too much, since they are high-tech and costly jobs. Hopefully, there will be very important developments in terms of railways in our country in the coming days.”
