The muhtars, who took the stage with two months of theater and music training within the body of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, appeared before the audience in Izmir after the play they staged in Alaşehir as part of the Victory and Remembrance March organized from Afyon to Izmir. The muhtars, who voluntarily left their mukhtars for the 100th anniversary of Izmir and took the stage for the first time in their lives, told the story of Izmir's liberation with a magnificent performance. Vedat Murat Güzel is the general artistic director of the musical, Aysel Güzel is the director, Emre Behiç Yavuz is the writer, Pelin Kadıoğlu is the music, and Özgür Adiloğlu is the dance choreography. In the play, in which the stories of three efe and two heroines are told based on the folk songs of the Aegean Region, fictional characters were played alongside known figures such as Atçalı Mehmet, Yörük Ali, Çakırcalı Mehmet, Çete Emir Ayşe, Gördesli Makbule. The audience applauded the play, which presented a magnificent visual feast with its orchestra, choir, folk dance group, large cast, decor and costume.
After the performance at AASSM, the Muhtars will meet with the audience at the Dere Recreation Area in Kemalpaşa on September 8.
