Forest Fires Taken Under Control in Soma Districts of Manisa and Gülnar Districts of Mersin

The forest fires that broke out yesterday in Manisa's Soma and Mersin's Gülnar districts were brought under control, and cooling efforts continue.

The fire, which started in Soma district yesterday, was brought under control as a result of the intervention of the teams from the land and from the air. The cooling work of the teams in the region continues.

HELICOPTERS WITH NIGHT FLIGHT SYSTEM IN ACTION

The forest fire that broke out in the Büyükeceli district of Mersin's Gülnar district yesterday was brought under control as a result of the intense intervention of the teams from the land and air.

The first response to the fire, which started at 07.13 yesterday, was made as of 07.20.

In order to extinguish the forest fire, which was intervened both from the ground and from the air during the day, 3 helicopters with night vision and flight systems were activated when it got dark.

Cooling works continue in the area where the fire was brought under control.

VICE MINISTER TIRYAKI IS IN THE REGION

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Veysel Tiryaki followed the work of the teams in the fire area in Gülnar.

Tiryaki, who made investigations in the region with Mersin Governor Ali Hamza Pehlivan and other officials, stated that all concerned, especially forestry employees, participated in the fire extinguishing efforts.

TREATMENTS OF INJURED PERSONNEL CONTINUE

On the other hand, the treatment of 5 forest general directorate personnel injured in the fire in Gülnar continues in hospitals.
