Chinese President Xi Jinping has instructed the building of a strong army with successful reform experiences. Xi Jinping, who is also the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CCP) and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, spoke at the Defense and Army Reform Seminar held in the capital Beijing today.
Xi said that since the 18th National Congress of the CCP, there have been historical successes in resolving the institutional barriers, structural contradictions and policy problems found in defense and army building, through the comprehensive implementation of the strategy of strengthening the military through reform.
In the face of the new situation, Xi added that envisaged reform tasks should be implemented, with a focus on preparing for war.
