93 Years Factory and Antique Heating System

In the excavations carried out under the supervision of the Museum Directorate and meticulously carried out by expert archaeologists and teams, the foundation, water channels and wall remains belonging to the engine room and storage areas of the ice factory, which was first made in 1927, were unearthed. Later, during the studies carried out in the South part of the Hıdırlık Tower, the remains of the heating system and duct were unearthed in the area that is thought to be the remains of a bath. In detail works, geometric patterned floor mosaics and herringbone terracotta flooring were achieved. In the archaeological excavations carried out in the northern part of the Hıdırlık Tower, the remains of the castle wall were unearthed. A retaining wall was built for the safety of the buildings in the northern part.

Could Be Part of the Mansion

Finally, in the excavations carried out by the team meticulously, the finds of stair steps descending from the cliffs to the sea were found in the South part of the Hıdırlık Tower. Authorities said that they guessed that it could be part of a mansion-style structure, since the findings, which are thought to be the remains of a bath, and the staircase leading down to the sea, are located in the same area.
