With the protocol signed between Bornova Municipality and the Association for Quality in Health (SAĞKAL), the third Hope House, where women with cancer and their companions can stay, will be opened in Bornova. Dr. With the protocol signed between Cüneyt Tuğrul, cancer patients who cannot come and go to İzmir every day due to financial constraints during the radiotherapy process or who have to stay in the hospital or in their gardens will be provided with free accommodation and meals.

Bornova Municipality has started preparations for the work, which is planned to start in October, within the scope of the protocol. It will be ensured that women with cancer who come to the city from outside the city for treatment will have their accommodation at the Özgül Gündüz Public Health Center in Yunus Emre District, which also includes the Healthy Aging Center. While benefiting from special single rooms with beds, wardrobes, tables, chairs, bathrooms and toilets in the center, the food of the guests will also be provided within this scope.

Stating that the project initiated by the SAĞKAL Association is a work that will make a difference in people's lives, Bornova Mayor Dr. Mustafa İduğ said, “This study also reveals a reality in hospitals. Citizens coming from other cities for their treatment are experiencing a shortage of accommodation. Especially considering the current state of the economy, we wanted to do our best.

SAĞKAL Association is accomplishing important works in Turkey. Since we took office, we have emphasized the importance of inter-institutional cooperation. For this, we have implemented our NGO Campus, which brings all NGOs under the same roof. This work we are doing now is an important indicator of these collaborations.”

Drawing attention to the importance of the cooperation with Bornova Municipality, SAĞKAL Association Chairman of the Board Op. Dr. Cüneyt Tuğrul, on the other hand, said that with the cooperation of women cancer patients in need, they can stay in a safe place and safely. Tuğrul said, “Bornova Municipality, with this study, offers us an infrastructure, including nutrition, so that oncology patients can stay in their treatment process. Thus, 6 accommodation will be provided annually,” he said.
