Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu emphasized that localization of critical components for 5G and beyond technologies is their main priority and said, “When we come to 2027, it is predicted that half of mobile subscribers will use 5G technologies. Towards the 2030s, 6G technology will become the 'keystone' for the public and private sectors in informatics. 5G, which is predicted to be a hundred times faster than 6G technologies, will simultaneously communicate and interact with artificial intelligence and all biological systems in all sectors in the digital world.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu spoke at the opening of the Fourth 6G Conference of Istanbul Medipol University; “As the production, sharing and access to information reach dizzying speeds, the rules of the game are also changing. If you do not produce information, if you do not turn the information you produce into a product and if you cannot introduce this product to the world, neither your development nor development is possible. Domestic production, high technology and a global brand… If we can achieve success in the IT sector in these three phases, Turkey will go a long way both in closing its current account deficit and in exports. For this, it is extremely important for young people like you to grow up and have a say in Turkey's future.”

IT SECTOR GROWED CLOSE TO 20 PERCENT

Expressing that the dizzying speed of information and communication technologies has increased exponentially with the new business models developing during the pandemic period, Karaismailoğlu said that the dizzying rise in flexible and home-based work, e-education, e-commerce and even e-entertainment models requires an increase in internet access speed and capacities. he said he did. Pointing out that the increases in the number and duration of use also contributed significantly to the growth of the sector, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“In 2021, the IT sector in our country grew by nearly 20 percent compared to the previous year. We increased our fiber line length, which was 2003 thousand kilometers in 88, five and a half times, to 488 thousand kilometers. Of course, it is not enough, we will increase it much more. The number of mobile subscribers reached 88 million 500 thousand, and the number of broadband subscribers reached 89 million 500 thousand. The number of communication between machines in the sector has exceeded 7 million 800 thousand. In the face of all these increases, the tariff fees of mobile operators decreased from 10 cents per minute 8,6 years ago to 1,5 cents today. In internet usage in the second quarter of 2022; We recorded an increase of approximately 22 percent in mobile and approximately 13 percent in stationary. As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we carry out significant investments and growth in land, air, rail and sea transportation systems in our country, as well as significant studies on communication and communication issues together. In our works, we act with the mind of the state, and we accelerate the cooperation between the public and private sector, as well as the university-real sector. Our main goal in this process; To provide economic internet access and value-added services to the benefit of our people at a speed that will compete with the world.”

THE RATE OF DOMESTIC EXCEEDED 33 PERCENT TODAY

Pointing out that they are aware of the importance of internet speed, Karaismailoğlu said, “Because; We have all witnessed the inconvenience caused by even a few hours of communication interruption and how necessary the national practices are. The use of domestic and national software and hardware in electronic communication networks will contribute to the fast, secure and comprehensive access of our people, as well as economic benefits. With this approach, we continue our efforts to provide the fastest internet infrastructure in our country. The domestic rate, which was only 4,5 percent in the first investment period of 1G, has exceeded 33 percent today. We want to come to a position that not only consumes technology, but also designs, develops, produces, creates a brand and sells it to the world. There are three basic criteria in our informatics, communication and space studies; domestic production, high technology and global brand. In this context, we see 5G not only as a communication technology, but also as a necessity of our national security. “With the digital leap forward in both 5G and 6G technologies, cybersecurity is our top priority.”

6G WILL BE THE KEYSTONE FOR THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS IN IT

Karaismailoğlu said, “When we come to 2027, half of mobile subscribers are expected to use 5G technologies,” Karaismailoğlu stated that 2030G technology will become a “keystone” for the public and private sectors in informatics towards the 6s. Emphasizing that Turkey has to be a pioneer in these technologies, Karaismailoğlu said, “We have put forward a vision for our people, especially our youth, to have a fast and secure internet infrastructure. We continue our activities in order to ensure that the 5G studies that we shared with our nation at Istanbul Airport a few months ago are domestic and national. Because we know that; 5G is essential for Turkey's future projects, for its youth. As we follow all technological developments closely, we are at the table strongly as Turkey in the 5G process," he said.

83 PERCENT OF TURKEY'S POPULATION USES THE INTERNET

Noting that 83 out of every hundred citizens, that is, 83 percent of Turkey's population, use the internet in Turkey today, Karaismailoğlu said, "I would like to emphasize that this rate is around 65 percent in the world, and that our country is in the first place in internet usage. The fact that internet penetration is so high is an important indicator of how open our country is to new technologies. 5G is one of these technologies. With 5G, we will have a stronger, faster and more efficient internet infrastructure than other wireless connections. With this approach, our work continues uninterrupted locally and nationally. Turkey will increase its speed in technology with 5G. Vehicle-pedestrian communication, vehicle-vehicle communication, vehicle-infrastructure communication will increase, so we will connect all objects more quickly, not just people. We provide significant savings in labor, resources and time, regardless of location, by transferring the services we offer to our people as the state to the electronic environment, which will make our lives easier in agriculture, industry, education, health, finance, entertainment, transportation and many other areas, at the same time with internet access. spoke.

OUR PEOPLE'S INTEREST AND REFLEX IN ACCESS TO DIGITAL SERVICE IS VERY HIGH

Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, stated that the speed and quality of the services offered to the citizens with the E-Government Gate Project have been improved day by day and that it provides an important comfort area for the citizens.

“This service, which saves significant time, also increases service satisfaction. The number of entrances to the e-government gate for the Social Housing Project also shows that our people's interest and reflex in accessing digital services is very high. As you know, we made the 5G promotion at Istanbul Airport at the end of July. Communication infrastructure of our country; we plan with the mind of the state, evaluate it on academic and scientific grounds and implement it with public-private sector cooperation. I would like to repeat it once again: Localization of critical components for 5G and beyond technologies is our main priority. In order for our mobile operators to prepare for 5G, we have given many time permits to test the products developed by domestic and foreign manufacturers on mobile networks. These trials continue in 18 different provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. Every development in the field of 5G also lays the groundwork for 6G.”

WE CONTRIBUTED MORE THAN 520 BILLION DOLLARS TO OUR NATIONAL INCOME WITH OUR INVESTMENTS

In the last 20 years; Pointing out that they have invested more than 183 billion dollars in Turkey's transportation and communication infrastructure, Karaismailoğlu said that they contributed more than 520 billion dollars to the national income with their investments. Karaismailoğlu said, “We aim to make transportation and communication investments of 2053 billion dollars until 198” and pointed out that they aim to contribute 2053 trillion dollars to production and 198 trillion dollars to national income with a total transportation and communication investment of 2 billion dollars until 1.

WE WILL DISCOVER THE REALITY IN A VIRTUAL WORLD, INDEPENDENT OF TIME AND PLACE

Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport, said, “In 5G, which is predicted to be a hundred times faster than 6G technologies, artificial intelligence and all biological systems in all sectors in the digital world will be in communication and interaction simultaneously. As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, with the spread of artificial intelligence, we will be able to operate and manage the mobility on our installed transportation systems much smarter, faster, safer and economically. We expect 6G technologies to have a positive impact on energy efficiency, environment and climate as well as time and effort efficiency. We are now living the centuries-old processes in 10-year periods. We can manage the next 10 years with the speed and capacity of 6G technologies. In 6G communication technologies, instead of Wi-Fi, Li-Fi, that is; Visible light communication technologies will be used with high-energy LEDs. In short, we will discover reality in a virtual world independent of time and space.”
