The longest Manas Epic Reading attempt for the Guinness Book of Records in Bursa, the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World, was concluded successfully. Kyrgyz Manasist Rysbai Isakov entered Guinness with 124 hours of Manas reading by heart for six days.
The Metropolitan Municipality has successfully completed another event worthy of the title Bursa, the Cultural Capital of the Turkish World in 2022. The longest Manas reading attempt was made for the Guinness Book of Records within the framework of the Manas Week events organized with the support of the Kyrgyz Republic, 'within the scope of the 4th World Nomad Games to be held in the Iznik district of Bursa'. In the trial in the Kyrgyz tent established in Merinos Park in the city centre; Kyrgyz Manasist Rysbai Isakov, who recited the Epic of Manas for 124 hours over six days, managed to enter the Guinness Book of Records.
At the closing ceremony of the Manas Week events held at the Tayyare Cultural Center, Kyrgyz Manasçı Rısbai Isakov received the record certificate from the Guinness World Records Turkey Representative Şeyda Subaşı Gemici. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, International Turkish Culture Organization Secretary General Sultan Raev, Kyrgyz Republic State Secretary Süyünbek Kasmambetovun, Bursa Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Kamil Özer, Kyrgyz and Turkish guests attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Alinur Aktaş said that they are happy to organize another event worthy of the title Bursa, the Cultural Capital of the Turkish World in 2022. Expressing that Manas, one of the world's greatest epics, is the cultural heritage of not only the Kyrgyz but also the entire Turkish world, Chairman Aktaş said, “On the occasion of the event; We hosted our guests from our heartland in Bursa, the cradle of civilizations, the intersection point of historical silk and spice roads, the capital of the Seljuk and Ottoman Empire. Just as the heroic narratives, which were formed in the old periods of history, have reached the present day through epics 'within the oral tradition', they will continue to be transferred to future generations as long as they are kept alive. Of course, another beauty was that a performance that would enter the Guinness Book of Records was performed in our city on this occasion. On this occasion, I would like to thank those who keep the Manas tradition alive, keep it alive and convey it to us, for their contributions to the ancient Turkish culture.”
Sultan Raev, Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture, also stated that Manas, one of the longest epics in the world, has survived to the present day 'with additions over the centuries' and said:
Announcing the result after the speeches, Guinness World Records Turkey Representative Şeyda Subaşı Gemici said that international rules must be fulfilled for the record to be realized, and Kyrgyz Manasçı Rısbai Isakov broke the record by 'reading the Manas epic for a total of 124 hours'.
Officially inscribed in the Guinness Book of Records, Isakov received the record certificate from the Sailor.
