Soyer: “You cannot build a sustainable future if you lose your roots”

Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer“Memory is very important. We live in such an age of speed that life is lived as if it were something that started and ended with us. Not. We have very strong roots behind us. You cannot build a sustainable future if you lose your roots. The future you live in is doomed to collapse if it is not nourished by the roots. When you realize those roots, remember, own them, then your future will be enlightened. This is what we're trying to do. To ensure that the next generations live in the light. These lands are fertile enough to feed everyone, but unfortunately they do not feed everyone. Poverty, deprivation knee-deep… None of us deserve this. You will see, it is very soon for us to build a future where we will live hand in hand, smiling and happily.”
