With the 7th Türksat Model Satellite Competition organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST, the young generation space will put its signature on the homeland with domestic and national products. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu drew attention to the importance of the Model Satellite Competition organized by Türksat and said, “We both offer undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to turn theoretical knowledge into practice and provide them with interdisciplinary working skills. Most importantly, with this competition, we are already conducive to the training of our human resources who will work in the field of satellite and space technologies.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu addressed the participants at the 7th Türksat Model Satellite Competition held within the scope of TEKNOFEST, the world's largest aviation, space and technology festival. Karaismailoğlu said, “The national technology move, TEKNOFEST, which allows us to share our vision with millions, has managed to win the attention of our young people in particular. We have made the voice of Turkey known to the whole world, working with all its might to have all the technological equipment required by the age, planning every step and advancing towards the future with the aim of becoming a global player. We have big goals that we have prepared the infrastructure for. We aimed to become a global producer and export country with the national products we produce by developing our domestic industry. With the AK Party government, the values of Anatolia, which had sunk into oblivion since 2002, have become stronger, and the concept of nationality has received its share from this strengthening.”

WE ARE RISING FAST ON THE WAY TO TECHNOLOGY EXPORTING COUNTRY

Karaismailoğlu stated that they have increased their domestic and national production and capabilities in all areas of their responsibility, from bridges built as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, communication satellites sent to space, and continued his speech as follows:
“We reinforce Turkey's independence, create new job opportunities for you, and rise rapidly on the way to a technology exporting country. For this reason, we find this Model Satellite Competition, organized by our distinguished organization Türksat, which is the pride of our country with its international achievements, very important. Thus, we both offer undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to transform theoretical knowledge into practice and provide them with interdisciplinary working skills. Most importantly, with this competition, we are already conducive to the training of our human resources who will work in the field of satellite and space technologies. Our process, which started with 2016 teams and 3 people for the first time in 18, turned into a big competition reaching approximately 2022 people with 111 applications in 600. The processes of the Türksat Model Satellite Competition were planned to reflect the satellite/space project on a small scale. From design to production and post-mission review, a satellite includes all aspects of a space project. We provide contestants with the opportunity to experience the process from the design of a space system to its commissioning. Many competitors in the competition processes have declared their will in the Space and Aviation sector with the companies they have established. For example, the Grizu-263 team from Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University designed a pocket satellite and placed them in low orbit in January 2022.”

IN THE LAST 20 YEARS, WE HAVE MADE A REVOLUTIONARY IN TURKEY

Congratulating the young people, Karaismailoğlu said that it is seen that they are on the right track with the successes achieved both in the country and in the international arena. “In the Cansat competition held in America this year, the top 15 of the top 5 international teams that showed outstanding success were Turkish teams. A total of 7 Turkish teams took their place in the top 15 rankings," said Minister of Transport, Karaismailoğlu, "I congratulate all of them one by one and hope that their success will continue to increase. We aim to be a global producer and export country worldwide with the high-tech products we produce. In this context, under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, we have almost made a revolution in Turkey in the last 20 years. Today, we produce our own domestic observation and communication satellites, which only 10 countries in the world can realize. It produces our domestic cars and national electric train sets. He is launching his own warships one by one. We take off the ATAK Helicopters, build the Altay Tanks, watch the enemies with UAVs, and neutralize their enemies with SİHAs when necessary. We can increase these examples, but in short, we have proven to the whole world that we can achieve anything. We have turned into a country that produces, is taken as an example, and whose technological activities are followed.”

TURKEY WILL BE ONE OF THE TOP 10 COUNTRIES REPRESENTED IN SPACE BY ITS OWN SATELLITE

Karaismailoğlu said that they have brought Turkey to a level where it can develop, produce and test its own satellites, and reminded that they sent Türksat 3A to space in 2008, Türksat 4A in 2014, and Türksat 4B in 2015. Pointing out that Türksat 5A and Türksat 5B also reached their orbits within the last year, Karaismailoğlu said that they are among the rare countries that put 2 communication satellites into operation in a year.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “We aimed to launch Türksat 6A, our first domestic and national communication satellite, which is under construction at the Space Systems Integration and Test Center at TUSAŞ Facilities, in 2023. Thus, Turkey will be one of the first 10 countries represented in space by its own satellite. We are taking firm steps forward on our roadmap to protect our country's rights and interests in space."

WE AIM TO BECOME A COUNTRY THAT PRODUCES TECHNOLOGY, NOT JUST CONSUMER

Pointing out that 5G technology, which constitutes the key point of digital transformation as well as space and aviation technologies, will be produced with domestic and national means, Karaismailoğlu said, “We aimed for Turkey to become a country that not only consumes technology, but actually designs, develops, produces and markets it to the world. We have done very important work on 5G Technology and have come a long way. On the way to 5G, we develop hardware and software needs with domestic and national resources. We develop critical network hardware and software specific to 5G technology such as 5G base stations, 5G core network, 5G network management and operational software and 5G virtualization platform. We will continue to do whatever is necessary for the development of 5G technology, taking into account our country's interests. Turkey's future is entrusted to our youth. Our young people will carry Turkey to the future it deserves by walking with us. We have full confidence in you. Today, there is a Turkey that destroys the games written by developing its domestic and national technology, and now writes the games itself," he said.
