Aircraft Support from Turkey to the Forest Fire in Georgia

Support from Turkey went to the forest fire that started days ago in Borjomi district of Georgia and could not be brought under control yet.

6 fire extinguishing planes affiliated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry General Directorate of Forestry are working in the fire for the fire, which has been intervening for 3 days by land and air.

A total of 1 aircraft from Turkey, 32 AN2 Antanov and 802 AT3 Airtractor aircraft, are responding to the fire.

One AN1 Antanov aircraft with registration number UR-UZH and two AT32 Airtractor aircraft with registration number EC-NVF and EC-LGT quickly moved from Dalaman to the fire area after the necessary official procedures and started to take part in the fire.

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci stated that 3 planes within the body of OGM were deployed for forest fires in Georgia.

Underlining that forests are the common wealth of all humanity, Kirişci said that they continue to work to protect this wealth.

Minister Kirişci conveyed his best wishes to the people of Georgia.
