Ulus Square and 100th Anniversary Bazaar Survey Concluded

The survey initiated by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality to get ideas from the public about the future of Ulus Square and the 100th Anniversary Bazaar has been concluded.

While 28 people voted in the survey organized through Başkent Mobil, 765 percent of the participants preferred the option 'I prefer an urban square to Ulus'.

The survey initiated by the Metropolitan Municipality on July 5, 2022, through the 'Speak Right' module in Başkent Mobil, in order to get ideas from the public about the future of Ulus Square and the 100th Anniversary Bazaar, known as the memory of Ankara, has resulted.

28 THOUSAND CITIZENS VOTED

The preference of 100 citizens, 69 percent of whom participated in the voting, in which the draft project visuals of Ulus Square and the 19th Anniversary Bazaar were shared, was "I prefer an urban square to be built in Ulus". 959, or 8 percent of the citizens who participated in the voting said “806. I prefer the preservation and re-functioning of the Yıl Çarşısı”.

73 PERCENT OF PARTICIPANTS ARE FEMALE

In the survey conducted for Ulus, where the history of Ankara is journeyed with its historical streets and houses, 73 percent of the citizens were women and 27 percent were men.

While 20 of 993 women wanted an urban square to be built in Ulus, 14 of 298 men voted in this direction. The rate of women who wanted an urban square to be built in Ulus was 7 percent. While 772 percent of the women who participated in the voting argued that the 5th Anniversary Bazaar should be protected and functional, 661 percent of the men supported this view.
