New Kia Niro offers enhanced protection and comfort

The advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) of the new Kia Niro are designed to provide superior protection both when driving on the road and during parking and manoeuvring. When a potential collision with another vehicle is detected in the blind spot, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA) automatically brakes the Niro to help avoid a collision with vehicles behind. When reversing from a vertical parking space, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA) warns the driver when another vehicle is approaching from either side. The system automatically applies the brakes if the driver does not react and a collision is unavoidable.

In order to reduce parking stress, the New Kia Niro, which has a Remote Intelligent Parking Assistant (RSPA) system that allows the vehicle to park itself when the driver gets out of the vehicle, uses ultrasonic sensors to avoid collisions with other objects. It automatically performs the parking maneuver by managing the gas, brake and gear. The system automatically brakes when an object is detected in the vehicle's path. After safely parking, the Safe Exit Assistant (SEA) warns when a vehicle approaches from behind while getting out of the vehicle, and the electronic child lock prevents rear seat passengers from opening the rear door.

The new Kia Niro is also equipped with Kia's second-generation Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA 2) system. FCA 2 constantly monitors the movement of road users, including cars, cyclists and pedestrians, to help drivers avoid potential collisions. The system also includes Junction Turn and Junction Crossing functions to maximize safety at intersections.

Crystal clear multiple displays

The new Kia Niro offers a highly intuitive interface where the driver and front passenger can easily see and access all the basic functions of the vehicle. Two 10,25-inch screens integrated into the dashboard form a dual screen. Located in front of the driver, the main instrument cluster displays all important driving information such as speed, real-time energy flow and obstacle detection. This screen merges with the infotainment screen located in the middle of the dashboard. A set of intuitive icons gives the driver and front passenger access to audio, navigation and vehicle settings easily and with minimal distraction. All technical and hardware features in the new Kia Niro are offered in both hybrid and electric motor options.
