Hülya Çelik, a member of Balıkesir Mountaineering Club, who participated in the walk from Balıkesir, said, “We came to experience this enthusiasm, to walk on the paths of our ancestors. This land is ours. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality provided us with this opportunity. We haven't had any problems since we arrived. Balıkesir has liberation on September 6th. We will walk here, go to Balikesir and come back again. We will enter Izmir on September 9 with enthusiasm. For me, İzmir means freedom and beauty.”

Haydar Rayman, President of the Cappadocia Scouting Federation, said, “The liberation of Izmir means the liberation of Turkey. On September 9, all Anatolia experienced the same thing. It is the same now, the struggle for liberation continues. As the Cappadocia Scouting Federation, we continue to raise a youth who internalizes the values of the Republic, questions, thinks and produces ideas in line with Atatürk's principles and reforms.
Hatice Koç, who participated in the march from Kayseri, stated that 9 September meant a lot to her and said, “Izmir is really the salvation of Turkey for us. The march is going better and better than we expected," he said.
On the second day of their historical journey, the marching convoy attended the commemoration ceremonies held at Colonel Reşat Çiğiltepe Martyrdom. The 57th Division Commander Miralay Reşat Bey, who committed suicide because he could not take Çiğiltepe at the time promised to the Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal Pasha, and the convoy to Kırka Town, 15 kilometers from the martyrs' memorial, spent the night in the tent camp he set up in Kırka.
The convoy will march to Yıldırım Kemal village on August 28, after attending the commemoration ceremonies to be held at the Yıldırım Kemal Martyrdom, where Kemal from İzmir, who was martyred when he was only 24 years old, and his comrades are buried, will pass to the village of Akçaşar, which was used as the camp center during the Great Offensive.
