Forest Villager Gets His Energy From The Sun

With the project implemented within the scope of the "Electricity Production from Solar Energy Project" of the General Directorate of Forestry (OGM) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), systems capable of generating 35 kW power were installed in 82 households in 806 villages in 1486,6 provinces.

Adding to his words that the project, implemented by OGM and United Nations Development Program (UNDP), has spread to many regions of Turkey, Karacabey continued his statement as follows; “Our Solar Energy Generation project has expanded to 2 provinces in 35 years, and a system has been installed on the roofs of 806 houses. Thanks to these power plants, our villagers got rid of the trouble of paying their electricity bills. We implement 47 percent of the project as grants and 53 percent interest-free as loans. In addition, we make it easier for our villagers to pay the loans by collecting them in 7 equal installments, one payment per year.”

Karacabey stated that 2020 solar power plants (GES) with 100 kilowatt-hour power were established in Afyonkarahisar's Şuhut and Konya's Ilgın and Gökbudak districts as a pilot region in 2, Forest General Manager Bekir Karacabey said that within the scope of the project, Afyonkarahisar will be a pilot region in 2020. Noting that 100 solar power plants (SPPs) with 2 kilowatt-hour power were established in Şuhut and Konya's Ilgın and Gökbudak districts, he explained that all the electricity needs of the villagers were met from the power plants, and the surplus energy was sold and an annual average of 70 thousand TL was provided to the village budget.
