CHP's Ağbaba: 'Turkstat Caught Against İŞKUR in Unemployment Data'

CHP Deputy Chairman Veli Ağbaba evaluated the June labor force data of TUIK. In his written statement, CHP Deputy Chairman Ağbaba said, “TÜİK was caught by İŞKUR again on unemployment data. The number of unemployed people registered with İŞKUR exceeded the official number of unemployed by TÜİK in June with a margin of 27 thousand people,'' he said. Ağbaba also drew attention to the difference in the annual increase in the number of unemployed between the data of TÜİK and İŞKUR and said, “Turkstat employs those who apply for a job at İŞKUR. There is no other way to explain this difference," he said.

The number of unemployed registered with İŞKUR surpassed the official number of unemployed by TÜİK

“According to TURKSTAT, the number of unemployed registered in June decreased by 136 thousand people compared to the previous month and became 3 million 541 thousand people. According to İŞKUR, the number of registered unemployed in the same period increased by 31 thousand in one month and reached 3 million 568 thousand. In other words, the number of unemployed in June by İŞKUR, which disclosed the data registered to it, exceeded the official unemployed number of TURKSTAT, which announced the data based on the survey. TÜİK's novice magician has given himself away this month. In addition, according to TUIK data, the broad definition of unemployed was announced as 20,4 percent in June. There is a two-fold difference between the broadly defined unemployment rate and the narrowly defined unemployment rate.

TÜİK employs those who apply to İŞKUR

According to TUIK data, the increase in the number of unemployed in the last year is limited to 30 thousand people.
