Bursa High Speed Train Line Project to be Completed in 2024

AK Party Bursa Deputy Mustafa Esgin examined the tunnel works in the Yenişehir-Osmaneli phase of the Bursa High Speed Train Line project. Making a statement after his examinations, Esgin said, “Our countdown continues for the biggest project that has been carried out in Bursa with a single pen throughout the history of the Republic. The 1891-kilometer Bursa-Mudanya Train line, which was put into service in 42 during the reign of Abdülhamid Han, was closed in 1948. This left a deep wound in the hearts of the people of Bursa. Bursa is not among the cities covered with iron nets throughout the history of the Republic. In this respect, it is a project that we miss. It will be our AK Party government to turn the 74-year longing of the people of Bursa into reality. We would like to express our gratitude to our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, for taking the steps that will bring the project to Bursa, despite the Covid process and the global crisis affecting the world. Our high-speed train project will be put into service in 29 months, that is, at the end of 2024.”

Stating that the works are continuing rapidly, Esgin said, “There are 53 tunnels in 13 kilometers of the total 10 kilometers of the Yenişehir-Osmaneli stage, where the work of our high-speed train line is concentrated. We have completed 35 kilometers of the tunnel work in 4,5 months with 7 percent completion. With the participation of our Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismaoğlu, the light appeared in the T07 tunnel. Work has been completed in two tunnels, T07 and T04. Simultaneously, our work continues rapidly in 8 tunnels. Today, we are examining the T09 and T10 tunnel works. Our work continues simultaneously and bilaterally in the 09 kilometers of the T4 tunnel and the 10 kilometers of the T4 tunnel. We are also starting the superstructure works in the parts between Yenişehir and Bursa, the infrastructure of which has been completed. In addition to the Osmaneli and Yenişehir construction sites, we are establishing a separate construction site in Hasköy. Again, I would like to give the good news that the works will start in the Bursa-Karacabey-Bandırma section at the same time.”

WILL CARRY BOTH PASSENGER AND LOAD

Esgin stated that the Bursa High Speed Train line was extended from 106 kilometers to 201 kilometers by extending to Bandırma with the new planning, and that it grew nearly twice, “Our line is a high-standard railway. It has the potential to carry 30 million passengers and 60 million tons of cargo per year. In other words, it can carry both cargo and passengers. We will reach Ankara in 2 hours and 15 minutes. Also, Bursa Airport connection is a privilege," he said.
