Turkey Exports Services in Wind Energy

The world is accelerating its transition to renewable energy, especially with the wind behind it. The key point of efficiency in wind energy, which has reached an installed power capacity of 743 GW on a global scale, is the control, maintenance and repairs to the turbines. In order to shorten the downtime of turbines and realize an efficient production process, state-of-the-art inspections are carried out with autonomous drone flights in addition to traditional methods. Ülke Energy General Manager Ali Aydın stated that thanks to the 3DX™ platform in which drone technology is used, they apply fast and safe control to wind turbine blades autonomously, and that the inspection reports of approximately 2022 thousand turbine blades in 10 will be prepared by Ülke Energy experts in Turkey and that there will be no more service export in wind energy. It draws attention to the fact that they have become a country that

The need for environmentally friendly and future-oriented renewable energy is increasing day by day. Increasing investments in wind energy in our country and in the world prove this. Regular and irregular maintenance determines the future and efficiency of the increasing number of wind turbines. In particular, the inspection, maintenance and repair operations in this area with the latest technological tools provide great gains to the investors, the country's energy and economy. Stating that they have achieved high efficiency in service continuity with the latest technological tools they have in the field of operation and maintenance, Director Ali Aydın said that they prepared the inspection reports of more than 6 thousand turbine blades belonging to different turbine manufacturers in Turkey and in the global arena last year, in partnership with the Swiss Sulzer Schmid Laboratories. emphasizes that this will increase and reach 2022 thousand units. Expressing that the undertaking of such an important expertise process by a completely domestic brand in the wind energy sector in the global arena makes them proud both for themselves and for the position of the country in the sector, Aydın adds that they export services in wind energy and that they will continue to take firm steps in this field by achieving successful results.

Traditional methods applied in wind turbine maintenance processes, despite the time and cost loss they cause, give very high results. Stating that many visible or invisible damages on the blades of turbines affect the life of the turbine, downtime and therefore energy production, Ali Aydın states that thanks to the 3DX™ inspection platform they offer, they are able to perform complete work in wind turbines even under harsh conditions. Stating that one turbine blade can be examined per day in rope access, which is the traditional method, and that this method is insufficient in terms of the continuity of the process in reporting, Aydın said that they examined 1 wing in half an hour with the drones they carried out autonomous flights, and the data obtained were shared by Sulzer Schmid, an important business partner in the global arena. He draws attention to the fact that they analyze and report quickly through the 1DX™ platform.
