Shown as the best open water swimming organization in the world, Samsung Bosphorus Intercontinental Swimming Race was held for the 34th time with the support of IMM. More than 5 athletes from 2400 continents swam in the competition organized by the Turkish National Olympic Committee (TMOK), which connects Asia and Europe with strokes in the Bosphorus. IMM units also supported this great organization under the coordination of the IMM Youth and Sports Directorate.

Bringing together more than 2400 athletes from five continents, the Samsung Bosphorus Intercontinental Swimming Race started at 10:00 from Kanlıca Pier. 1243 local and 1198 foreign swimmers swim to reach the finish in Kuruçeşme. Doğukan Ulaç's 6,5-kilometer track in the men's category for 48 minutes and 13 seconds; In the women's category, Burcu Naz Narin took the first place with a time of 48 minutes and 14 seconds. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) City Lines General Manager Sinem Dedetaş was among the names on the podium to present their awards to the competitors.

FULL SUPPORT FROM IMM

İBB contributed to the organization of the organization in many areas. Supporting the organization under the coordination of the IMM Youth and Sports Directorate, IMM and its related units allocated Kuruçeşme Cemil Topuzlu Park to the organization. The cleaning, maintenance and landscaping of the area was organized by the Department of Parks, Gardens and Green Areas. İSTAÇ teams provided the sea and coastal cleaning of the sea surface boat in the coordinated works carried out by the Marine Services Directorate. Relevant teams continued to clean the area after the event. İSTAÇ teams also carried out awareness studies by placing 20 waste separation units in the activity area under the control of the Waste Management Department.

CITY LINES CARRIED ATHLETES ON FERRY

On the day of the competition, the athletes were transported to the Kanlıca Ferry Pier with the City Lines ferries. The starting stand, which paved the way for the ferry, was established with the support of Spor Istanbul A.Ş. Shower areas for athletes to use were provided by İSKİ. The safety of the swimmers was under the supervision of the İBB Fire Brigade. Four motorized inflatable boats were kept ready throughout the competition.
