Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank shared the excitement of the youth by participating in the Vertical Landing Rocket Competition organized by the TÜBİTAK Defense Industry Research and Development Institute (SAGE) together with the T3 Foundation as part of TEKNOFEST.

In the Vertical Landing Rocket Competition, to which 108 teams and more than a thousand competitors applied, the teams that passed the various reporting stages and were entitled to shoot continue their fierce struggle at the TÜBİTAK SAGE campus in Ankara.

Minister Varank, who visited the stands before the competition, examined the designed rockets and listened to the projects of the students, stated that they started different competitions this year in order to guide Turkish youth to the fields of space and technology.

Stating that they support young people to be in every field of technology, Minister Varank said, “We are holding the Vertical Landing Rocket Competition in Turkey for the first time in the world. 108 teams from all over Turkey applied to this competition, and more than 1000 of our young people worked hard to compete in these competitions. Our teams that can come to the field are also here, and they shoot gradually.” he said.

“ONE OF THE BIGGEST CONTRIBUTIONS TO TÜBİTAK TEKNOFEST”

Minister Varank, emphasizing that TEKNOFEST is an organization started to increase awareness of space, aviation and technology, noted that they have gathered the events under one roof by adding new ones to the previous technology competitions in Turkey. Pointing out that different competitions were held in different cities of Turkey this year, Varank said, “We are trying to raise our children from the middle school age in different categories, from chip design to rocket competitions, from unmanned underwater vehicle competitions to polar research, and we are trying to raise awareness.” used the phrases.

Reminding that TÜBİTAK is one of the institutions that make the biggest contribution to TEKNOFEST, Minister Varank said, “Our Ministry is already the executive of this work together with the T3 Foundation. We are trying to reveal this vision and put different alternatives in front of young people.” said.

“TEKNOFEST GENERATION IS COMING ROUND UP”

Underlining that the TEKNOFEST generation is slowly starting to form in Turkey, Varank said, “With the fire of TEKNOFEST, children in Turkey now want to work in the space and aviation sectors, want to be scientists, and try to show more effort in the field of research and development. By paving the way for them, we are actually doing a great job for the future of Turkey. The TEKNOFEST generation is coming with a roar. The TEKNOFEST generation will be the generation that will write the future of this country. They will write Turkey's success stories. We trust our young people, we are proud of their achievements and we will continue to support them.” made its assessment.

PURPOSE EFFORT AND COMPETITION

Stating that the young people who sweat in these competitions will be in the final of TEKNOFEST Black Sea, which will be held on August 30-September 4, Varank invited all citizens to TEKNOFEST, where technology enthusiasts from all over Turkey will showcase their skills and where various air shows and events will take place.

Minister Varank stated that there were beautiful designs among the rockets of the competitors participating in the Vertical Landing Rocket Competition, and said: “We have rockets that look both very professional and amateur. We have young friends who have accomplished this job very professionally, we have rockets that look a bit more amateur, but the important thing here is that young people from all over Turkey are forming their teams, 'What is team struggle?' They learn and strive. An important institute like SAGE provides both technical and mentoring support to these young brothers. In addition, teams are given material and financial support up to 65 thousand liras. So that these young people can work in these fields. That's why we found each of our young brothers successful, we declared each of our young brothers first in our hearts, but this is a competition, of course, they will race their rockets, let's see which team will be the first."

Noting that there are requests from other countries for TEKNOFEST and that there are people who want to participate, Varank said, "We are evaluating these demands, in which country we will do it next year, our friends are working. There is a great demand from the Turkish world, especially from Central Asia. We are currently taking steps to unite the Turkish world. Maybe we can organize a joint event together.” said.

TÜBİTAK SIGNATURE IN 15 COMPETITIONS AT TEKNOFEST

TUBITAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal also noted that the enthusiasm for TEKNOFEST is renewed every year with competitions in different categories. Mandal emphasized that TÜBİTAK coordinated 40 of the competitions in 15 different categories this year. Stating that four of these competitions were held for the first time, Mandal said, “We are actively trying to contribute to this process. We see our future in our youth at TEKNOFEST.” used the phrases.

After the speeches, the rockets designed within the scope of the competition were fired.
