The "Electronic Concrete Monitoring System" (EBIS) with a chip developed by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has been taken as an example by many countries in the world. EBIS, which was developed primarily to monitor the quality of concrete in the production of buildings in a way that protects life and property safety in the face of disasters, was also awarded in many fields.

Electronic Concrete Monitoring System (EBIS), developed by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, has been taken as an example by many countries due to the lack of a monitoring system with these features worldwide and the success of the system. EBIS, which was developed primarily to monitor the quality of concrete in the production of buildings in a way that protects life and property safety in the face of disasters, was also awarded in many fields.

With the EBIS, which was implemented by the Ministry in 2018, the compliance of the concrete class and standards specified in the construction project is determined, and during the concrete pouring, it is checked whether the officers fulfill their duties. With this system, the concrete used in the buildings gains identity thanks to Radio Frequency Identification Technology (RFID). In addition, laboratory experiments are carried out with concrete testing devices designed to prevent manipulation across the country.

RFID chips; It was tested in Afyon, Düzce and Karaman, and a chip model with high impact resistance was selected.

In the statement of the Ministry, which stated that RFID chips with different types, models and features to be used according to the structure of the concrete are determined; It was reported that these chips were tested in the provinces of Afyon, Düzce and Karaman, and the chip model with high impact resistance was chosen.

It was stated that with the completion of the R&D process of the EBIS Project, a Cooperation Protocol was signed between the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and the Defense Industry Presidency on February 4, 2018.

Pilot studies were carried out in Eskişehir by producing 100% domestic and national devices by AselsanNet.

In the statement, the project is 100 percent domestic and national by AselsanNet; It was noted that pilot studies were carried out in Eskişehir by producing a prototype concrete crushing device with features such as RFID Readers, IP Cameras, Mini PC, GSM Modem, Uninterruptible Power Supply and Smart Lock.

In the statement, it was stated that 650 concrete test devices were produced with the success of the prototype device, and it was emphasized that the installation and calibration were carried out free of charge in laboratories licensed by the Ministry.

In the statement, it was stated that various software was prepared for users to easily access the system, and it was underlined that a data center was established to preserve the data to be obtained from the software and that it would function as a disaster recovery center in order to recover this data in case of a natural disaster.

In the statement, it was stated that various trainings were organized for the personnel and officials working in the Ministry's Provincial Organization throughout the country, and it was stated that a call center serving 7/24 was also established in order to provide immediate solutions to the problems of the users.

After the implementation of EBIS, a high success rate of 99,45 percent was achieved.

In the statement, it was underlined that after the implementation of the system, a high success rate of 99,45 percent was achieved and efforts were made to make this system widespread in all buildings. In addition, it was stated that the production of RFID tags, which have not been produced in Turkey until now, started on April 7, 2020, and this technology, which has found use in many sectors, has been localized and nationalized.

All stages of concrete are inspected with EBIS

In the statement, which stated that all data used in the buildings were accessed thanks to EBIS, the following information was included:

“With EBİS, which class of concrete is used in which construction, from which concrete mixer, on what day and at what time, how many samples were prepared for the experiments, by whom in which laboratory the tests were carried out, whether the construction inspectors participated in the concrete casting, the samples were taken at the time specified in the relevant standard. It can be inspected whether it is kept in suitable conditions at the construction site and in the curing pool.”

With EBIS, 279 million 651 thousand 22 fresh concrete samples were taken from 41 thousand 317 constructions and examined, and it was awarded in many fields.

Until August 10, 2022, 279 million 651 thousand 22 fresh concrete samples were taken from 41 thousand 317 construction sites and subjected to examination.

EBIS; It was deemed worthy of the Innovation Award at the Eurasia Construction Architecture Engineering and Design Project Festival in 2019, the E-Transformation Project of the year as part of the 2019 Turkey Brand and Career events week, and the Benefit in Corporate Processes Award among the 2020 Information Awards organized by the Turkish Informatics Association in 2020.

Many countries in the world started to hold meetings with the Ministry to implement the Chip Electronic Concrete Monitoring System (EBIS). In this context, it was stated that the Ministry received requests from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Albania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to implement EBIS.
