World e-commerce giants continue to invest in Turkey. Stating that Turkey has attracted the attention of giant e-commerce companies both as a logistics center due to its geopolitical location and as a high quality production center with price advantages, TOBB E-commerce Council Member, Ticimax E-commerce Systems Founding CEO Cenk Çiğdemli said, Russian e-commerce giant Ozon.ru has decided to invest in Turkey. They will act as an intermediary for manufacturers and sellers to e-export from here to Russia. In the past months, Chinese e-commerce giant JD (Jing Dong) cooperated with PTT e-Store in Turkey. This cooperation also includes e-export to China. The company also wants to benefit from Turkey's geographical location in terms of logistics.”
Pointing out that the Turkish e-commerce ecosystem entering the radar of foreign investors will create a multiplier effect on Turkey's e-export potential, Çiğdemli said, “We are in an advantageous position especially in textile and footwear. Although the Turkish e-commerce market is a market that continues to grow, it has the potential to become the leading country in the field of e-export. We can become the e-commerce center of the world with the contribution of our geopolitical position, especially if we make good use of the investments coming from countries with many times more population than us, such as China and Russia.
