Izmir Metropolitan Municipality organizes a national photography contest themed "The 100th Anniversary of the Liberation of Izmir". Amateur and professional photographers will participate in the contest with the photos they took at the liberation events of Izmir, starting from 24 August.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality organizes a national photography contest themed "The 100th Anniversary of the Liberation of Izmir". Organized by the Department of Urban History and Promotion, the competition aims to document the events, ceremonies and celebrations to be held on the 9th anniversary of September 100 through photography. Through the competition, it is aimed to create a visual memory of these historical days of the city by ensuring that amateur and professional photographers meet in İzmir on this meaningful day.
Begins on August 24
Participants will be able to participate in the competition with photographs taken during the 24th Anniversary events between August 14 and September 2022, 100. Photographs taken at events such as celebrations, marches, ceremonies, concerts, light and laser shows, openings, exhibitions, air shows, sports events, and lantern processions to be held within the scope of the 100th anniversary of Izmir's liberation will be evaluated within the scope of the competition. Photos taken in previous years will not be able to participate in the competition. The “Victory and Remembrance March”, which will start from Afyon Derecine on August 24 and continue to İzmir, will be accepted as the beginning of the photography contest.
Participants will be able to follow the September 9th 100th Anniversary Event Program on the website and social media accounts of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
100 photographs will be awarded in the 100th anniversary
The first prize of the competition will be 15 thousand, the second prize will be 10 thousand, the third prize will be 7 thousand 500, honorable mention for 5 people will be 6 thousand, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Special Award and Selection Committee Special Award will be 5 thousand TL each. In addition, 90 photographs that are worth exhibiting will be rewarded with 500 TL each. All amateur and professional photographers over the age of 18 who are interested in photography can participate in the competition organized in cooperation with the Turkish Photographic Art Federation.
