Applications for the eighth short film competition "The Future is in Your Pocket with a Camera", which has been successfully conducted by the Turkish Capital Markets Association (TSPB) since 2014, started on 23 June. The competition, which started with the theme of “Being an Investor in the Capital Markets” and the motto of “Films are Short, Investments are Long”, ends on September 16, 2022. This year's theme of the short film competition, organized by the TSPB with the power of cinema in social transformation, to increase knowledge and awareness about financial literacy and investment in capital markets in the country, and which is held with a new theme every year, was determined as "Being an Investor in Capital Markets".
The application to the competition, which is open to everyone from home and abroad, will also be free of charge. Application records; It can be done via the cameraelindegelecekincebinde.com website. The language of the scripts and films must be Turkish, the scripts must be three, at most five pages, and the films must not exceed three minutes.
The short film competition “The Future is in Your Pocket with a Camera”, which will be held for the eighth time this year by TSPB, continues this year by opening a new page. Cinema lovers who will participate in this year's competition will first send their scripts prepared in accordance with the theme of "Being an Investor in Capital Markets". The scenarios evaluated by the TSPB Pre-Jury were then followed by Murat İri, a lecturer in the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema of the Faculty of Communication at Istanbul University, and a lecturer on Scriptwriting and Screenplay Techniques at the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema of the Faculty of Communication of Istanbul University between 2013-2017, currently Kanal D Content. It will be selected by the Development Manager Duygu Ertekin. In the pre-selection, films that are not suitable for the theme and that are not well processed are eliminated, and it is aimed to produce better quality films. Candidates who pass the scenario stage will be able to participate in the “Future in Your Pocket with a Camera” Short Film Competition by filming their scenarios.
A workshop on 'the elements of cinema' will be held with the participation of the owners of the screenplays that passed the pre-selection, and Ali Bilgin, the famous director of the hit TV series such as Murat İri and Medcezir, Ufak Tefek Murders, Manager Ara, and Judgment. Afterwards, the candidates will be given until 2 December 2022 to shoot the films of their scripts.
The first film in the competition will be awarded 25.000 TL, the second film will be awarded 20.000 TL, and the third will be awarded 15.000 TL. In addition, the "Cüneyt Cebenoyan Special Jury Award" worth 2014 TL will be given in the name of Cüneyt Cebenoyan, an important figure in the world of cinema, who has been a jury member of the competition since 3 and died in a traffic accident on 2019 August 10.000.
After the evaluations of the TSPB Jury and the Scenario Jury, the films of the participants who passed the screenplay selection will be evaluated by the Main Jury, which will include important names from the world of cinema and academia.
