One of the most important social projects of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, Halk Ekmek is getting its new facility equipped with the latest technology. The new factory, which covers an area of approximately 6 thousand square meters on Ankara Road, is planned to be put into service by the end of the year.

The Metropolitan Municipality has been renovating the Halk Bread Facilities, which have been meeting the healthy and economical bread needs of Eskişehir residents since 2001. Due to the fact that the capacity of the existing facility could not meet the increasing need and the technology was obsolete, work was started for the establishment of a new facility.

On the one hand, Halk Ekmek A.Ş, which brings together basic food products such as Halk Süt and dairy products, and Halk Egg to Eskişehir residents, will become one of Turkey's exemplary enterprises in all aspects with the completion of the factory, which has been started to be built.

Providing information about the new construction, the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Büyükerşen said, “Halk Ekmek, which has been a very important social project for many years, quietly contributes to the budget of tens of thousands of families every day, albeit a small one. Despite all the difficulties, we continue to stand by more of our citizens and support their family budgets by increasing production, especially in these days when the economic crisis has deepened. Demands come from many of our neighborhoods for the kiosks we have renewed. On the other hand, we continue to work on this issue," he said.

15 million support from Halk Ekmek to citizens

President Büyükerşen said, “Having produced 1 million 15 thousand loaves of bread in the last 453 year, Halk Ekmek's cheap price policy has enabled our citizens to keep approximately 15 million TL in their pockets. In line with the demands of our citizens, we started the construction of our new facilities for the establishment of a new and modern factory. The facility we are building on our land next to the Ankara Yolu Fresh Vegetable and Fruit Market will be one of Turkey's exemplary bread production factories in all aspects. I think that at the beginning of 2023, our facility will start service. Along with the new facility, we are planning to present new bread varieties to the taste of our people. I wish this distinguished investment to be beneficial to our city in advance," he said.
