Within the scope of the “Zero Waste in the Field with Leading Women Farmers” project initiated by Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality together with Gönen Merkez Tuzakçı Hasanbey Agricultural Development Cooperative, 5 female farmers who collected waste over 10 tons were presented with a “Balıkesir Lamb”.

It was stated that in the project realized with the cooperation of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality and Gönen Merkez Tuzakçı Hasanbey Agricultural Development Cooperative, it is aimed to prevent the damage caused by recycling plastic wastes and used pesticide packaging wastes that are released during the period from the time the seed falls to the harvest.

Within the scope of the project implemented in 13 villages within the scope of the cooperative, a Balıkesir lamb was given as a gift to 5 female farmers who collected more than 10 tons of agricultural and agricultural waste from the field.

With the “Zero Waste in the Field” project; On the one hand, the Metropolitan Municipality, which ensures the reduction of environmental pollution caused by agricultural wastes, on the other hand, encourages the collection of wastes by giving a gift of 500 full-bodied lamb to every 1 kilograms of agricultural and agricultural waste collecting cooperative member, and provides socio-economic support to the farmers in the region. Thus; It was noted that environmental pollution created by agricultural wastes was reduced in order to prevent climate change and drought. It was announced that the project, which was implemented in 13 villages of Gönen District and attracted great attention by women farmers, is planned to be expanded.
