100 members and young people from 58 ÇYDD branches all over Turkey participated in the “216th Anniversary of the Great Victory” meeting, which was organized with the contributions of Akşehir and Afyonkarahisar branches of ÇYDD Headquarters, and experienced the joy of victory together on this historical day.

At the meeting that took place in the centennial of the Turkish army under the command of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Great Offensive, the most important and decisive battle of the War of Independence, and the invading Greek army reclaimed the country's lands, ÇYDD said, “The Republic of Turkey will Live Forever in the Footsteps of Atatürk!” said.

ÇYDD President Prof. Dr. Ayşe Yüksel, ÇYDD Vice Presidents Lale Pilatin and Atty. Sedat Durna and ÇYDD Headquarters Board Members Atty. The meeting, attended by Nur Gercel, Garip Başakçi, Tanzer Boğan, Deniz Garip Yılmaz and Berfin Kuruş, as well as ÇYDD branch presidents and board members, started with a wreath ceremony in Akşehir Cumhuriyet Square; After a moment of silence, the National Anthem was sung. After breakfast with food, the Western Front Headquarters, Ethnography Museum, Archeology Museum, Akşehir Houses and Nasreddin Hoca House were visited.

Making the opening speech of the ceremony held in Akşehir, ÇYDD Akşehir Branch President Bengü Semersatan said: “Welcome to the lands where the liberation of the country from occupation is managed! On August 20, 1922, exactly 100 years ago today, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk came to Akşehir and completed the final preparations of the Great Offensive with his staff here. We are proud and happy to host ÇYDD Headquarters and branches in Akşehir on the 100th anniversary of the Great Victory. We would like to thank our Headquarters and branches for this historic meeting.” said.

Speaking at the ceremony, ÇYDD Chairman Prof. Dr. Ayşe Yüksel stated that they were all happy to be together on the 100th anniversary of the Great Victory and said, “A full century has passed since the Great Offensive Victory. We owe our independent, secular and democratic Republic to this great victory.” said. Stating that the Turkish army under the command of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, carried out the final preparations of the Great Offensive at Akşehir Western Front Headquarters, Prof. Dr. Yüksel said, “As ÇYDD, we met on the same day, exactly 100 years later, in Akşehir, where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk arrived exactly 20 years ago on 100 August. We live the pride and honor of this together. Akşehir played a vital role in winning our independence struggle by hosting the Western Front Headquarters for 9 months and 10 days, so we are here today too! We know that we will have young people who will protect the achievements of the Republic and carry it to the future. It is very meaningful and valuable to visit these lands, the Western Front Headquarters, which was the resistance point of the days of hope and struggle with them. We believe that our young people will have a more contemporary future; We will achieve this by working together and we will continue to be hope for them.” he said.

Within the scope of the ongoing program in Afyonkarahisar, the area determined by the Regional Directorate of Forestry for the 2th Anniversary of the ÇYDD Great Offensive Memorial Forest, where 100 saplings will be planted in October, was visited and 20 sample saplings were planted.

On Sunday, August 21, the program started with a visit to the Great Attack Victory Monument. Afterwards, a ceremony was held at the Şuhut Atatürk House. Speaking at the ceremony, ÇYDD Afyonkarahisar Branch President Serap Öztürk said: “Welcome to Afyonkarahisar, the land where our country was liberated from occupation and where we gained our independence and freedom. We will protect our independence that we gained 100 years ago at any cost and we will continue to work together as ÇYDD. We would like to thank our Headquarters and branches for this historic meeting.” said.

ÇYDD President Prof. Dr. Ayşe Yüksel, in her speech here, said, “As ÇYDD, we were in Samsun in 2019, on the 19th anniversary of 100 May. On September 4, 2019, we were in Sivas on the 100th anniversary of the Sivas Congress. Today we are here on the 100th anniversary of the Great Offensive, so happy for us. From now on, we will traditionalize these events under the name of Great Victory Meetings, we will meet with our members and young people every year in these lands where our freedom and independence have been won, and we will ensure that they learn our national history from appropriate and correct sources.” said. Then, Contemporary Youth Center Unit (ÇGMB) Facilitator Selin Özışık gave a speech.

ÇGMB Member Türkan Kurt read the press release on behalf of Contemporary Youth. After the speeches, the teams were divided and the Atatürk House was visited in the company of the guides.

After the Atatürk House, the Victory March to Kocatepe, where the Great Offensive was launched, was held. After a moment of silence was made here, sections from Nâzım Hikmet's Kuvayimilliye Epic were read by Çağdaş Genç. General information about the Great Offensive was given by the guides from Kocatepe. Then, Captain Agâh Efendi Martyrdom was visited in company with guides. Atatürk's Address to the Youth and the Youth's Reply to Ata were read by the youth of our Afyonkarahisar Branch.

Information was given by the guides on the three-dimensional model floor of the area where the Great Offensive Battle of the Commander-in-Chief took place at the Independence Promotion Center. The 100th Anniversary of the Great Victory Meeting ended with a visit to the Great Assault Martyrdom.
