Tesla Sets A New Record In China After Quarantine

Tesla's facility in Shanghai quickly returned to production after a three-week quarantine period. The stoppage of production due to the quarantine slightly regressed the balance sheet for the second quarter of the year, but in June, an all-time monthly record was broken in both production and shipment.

In the second quarter of 2022, Tesla met expectations with 254 deliveries, but fell 695 percent behind the previous non-quarantine period. However, both delivery and production increased so much in June that both a record sales were broken in China and 18 thousand electric vehicles were produced in Tesla factories around the world.

On the other hand, the contribution of the new factories to the June record was very low. Looking at the total figures, only 41 thousand units remain for Tesla plants in Germany and the USA, which more clearly emphasizes the leadership position of Gigafactory in China.
