Kayseri Erciyes Will Host International Cycling Competitions

Erciyes, which has become the center of cycling in Turkey, will host international road and mountain bike competitions again. The races will be the scene of the struggle of 20 athletes from about 1000 countries.

Erciyes, which is the attraction point of professional athletes in many sports branches as a professional camp, training, mountain and nature sports base in summer as well as winter sports, draws attention in the global cycling community. Many road and mountain bike races will be held in 2022 in Kayseri Erciyes, which has hosted the highest number of bicycle races in the world in the calendar of the International Cyclists Union UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale), headquartered in Italy in the past two years.

Erciyes International Road and Mountain Cycling Races, which will be held between 23 July and 25 September, will be organized by Erciyes High Altitude and Sports Tourism Association under the leadership of the International Cyclists Union -UCI and the Turkish Cycling Federation, and under the auspices of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, Erciyes A.Ş and Spor A.Ş. with their support.

Cycling teams from all over the world, including Turkey, will participate in the bicycle races. 20 professional athletes from about 1000 countries will sweat in the competitions in Erciyes. Master cyclists will pedal on the 1000-kilometer track in total.

7 international cycling races, including 4 road bikes and 11 mountain bikes will take place within the regions. Mountain bike races will be held on the Erciyes Bike Park tracks at 2.200 meters.

The races will start on July 23-24 with the stages of Grand Prix Erciyes and Grand Prix Kayseri. Cyclists will start in front of the Kayseri Science Center on the 141-kilometer GP Erciyes tour, pass Bünyan and Sarıoğlan and reach the finish point in front of the Kayseri Science Center. The 131 km long GP Kayseri stage will start from Cumhuriyet Square and end at the end point at Erciyes Ski Center Hacılar Kapı.
