The Turkish Ministry of National Defense announced that the land-based anti-ship missile ATMACA was fired at a target in the sea as part of the test fire carried out in the Black Sea. The launch system includes 8 ATMACA missiles deployed to 8×4 vehicles.

The land-based ATMACA anti-ship missiles can be considered as an important step towards Turkey's coastal defense capabilities. Currently, there are coastal defense versions of anti-ship missiles in the same class as ATMACA, such as Harpoon, Exocet and Kh-35, deployed on land vehicles. Coastal defense batteries have started to attract more attention in today's war environment, especially after the Moskva cruiser was sunk by Ukrainian land-based Neptune missiles in the Ukraine-Russia War.

ROKETSAN is also developing a land-to-ground version of ATMACA. This missile, which is deployed to the vehicle, will have an IIR seeker head suitable for land targets instead of RF, and will have different values ​​from the ATMACA anti-ship missile in terms of warhead, range and weight. It can be considered that the test shot also contributed to the development work of KARA ATMACA as experience.

ATMACA, which can be used in all weather conditions, is resistant to countermeasures; It includes target update, re-attack and mission cancellation capabilities. In addition, thanks to the advanced mission planning system (3D routing), it can be effective against fixed and moving targets. Using the Global Positioning System (GPS), Inertial Measurement Unit (AÖB), Barometric Altimeter and Radar Altimeter subsystems, ATMACA uses its active radar seeker to find its target with high accuracy.

With a range of over 220 kilometers, ATMACA also poses a major threat to targets beyond line of sight. ATMACA's; Behind its target update, re-attack and mission cancellation capabilities is its advanced and modern data link. In the system that can offer the most efficient task profile; Time on target, target destruction and target firing operational modes are also available.

ATMACA also makes a difference with its structural design. In line with the developing technologies, the missile was designed using composite material technologies to reduce weight and increase structural strength, and these technologies were utilized to the maximum in the production of the missile. In addition, ATMACA, which has developed with domestic and national resources, will be used effectively by the Naval Forces for the protection of the Blue Homeland and will undertake important tasks in this field.
