The 10th Chamber of the Council of State rejected the request for annulment of the President's decision to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention. The court stated that the decision to withdraw from the contract with the Presidential decree was in accordance with the law.

The Council of State found the decision to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention in accordance with the law.

Turkey had decided to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention in 2021, which imposes corruption on society. However, this step was made by the President's decision.

As the decision to withdraw was made by the President instead of the Assembly, a lawsuit was filed with the Council of State for annulment. The decision in the case was rendered on 19 July.

The Council of State rejected the request for annulment of the President's decision regarding Turkey's withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention by a majority of votes.

In the decision, it was stated that there was no illegality in terms of form and authority elements in the President's decision to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention. According to Article 104 of the Constitution, it was stated that the authority to ratify and terminate international treaties rests with the President.
