Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu could not meet the date he had given four times before for the opening of the Istanbul Airport-Kağıthane metro line. Minister Karaismailoğlu, in his last statement in May, said that the relevant metro line would be opened in August at the latest. With his latest statement, Karaismailoğlu postponed this date to the end of September-early October.
According to the news in Haber.aero, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a series of contacts in Kağıthane within the scope of the "Face to Face 100 Days Program" initiated by the AKP Istanbul Provincial Presidency. Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that 3 metro lines will be put into service in Istanbul as a ministry in the coming days, and that the Istanbul Airport-Kağıthane stage of the Istanbul Airport-Gayrettepe Metro Line will be opened towards the end of September.
Expressing that they plan to commission the entire line towards the end of the year, Karaismailoğlu said, “There is a feverish work to be completed in the same period (end of September-beginning of October) on our metro line, which will pass through Çam and Sakura City Hospital. One of the metros we will open in the same period Kadıköy-The line to connect Pendik line to Sabiha Gökçen Airport. We aimed to finish it like the end of September or the beginning of October, and we continue.” used the phrases.
Noting that metro investments continue on other lines, Karaismailoğlu said that the duty of local governments is to "make the life of citizens easier", that passengers should leave their private vehicles and prefer public transportation, but the current administration has not been successful in this regard.
