The Istanbul State Turkish Music Research and Application Ensemble will sing Istanbul songs at the Atatürk Cultural Center Theater Hall on July 19. The concert titled “Songs of Yeditepe Istanbul” will present a special repertoire of songs composed for Istanbul, the cradle of civilizations.

The concert, in which the works of famous poets, composers and commentators such as Yahya Kemal Beyatlı, Orhan Veli, Yesari Asım Arsoy, Münir Nurettin Selçuk and Avni Anıl will be performed, will take music lovers on a musical journey full of nostalgia in the famous districts of Istanbul.

Berke Meyman, Ertan Bilgi, Esrâ Çelik Tokgöz, Gizem Nur Copçuoğlu and Şükrü Türkmen, master artists of the Istanbul State Turkish Music Research and Application Ensemble; He will take the stage as a soloist in the concert, which is a tribute to Istanbul.

Composed from the poems of the same name by Yahya Kemal Beyatlı and Orhan Veli, the giants of Turkish literature, “Saint Istanbul” and “A Garib Orhan Veli in Istanbul in the Bosphorus” will present a unique beauty of Istanbul to the audience.

The works of Yesari Asım Ersoy, Munir Nurettin Selçuk and Avni Anıl, who carried Turkish music to new heights with their compositions, will also be performed for AKM audiences as part of the concert. Popular songs composed for Kandilli and Kanlıca, the city's famous districts for its nature, will give music lovers a pleasant evening at the AKM Theater Hall.
