Bademler, which has become the “capital of flowers” ​​in Turkey with the support of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, has its name written on the flower exchange of the Netherlands, which has a 49 percent share in world flower exports. Bademler Village Agricultural Development Cooperative, founded by flower producers, will exhibit five different types of cut flowers it produces in the Netherlands this month.

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, which supports the cooperatives and guarantees the purchase and sale to the local producers, has also carried the flower producers in Urla Bademler to new horizons with its contracted production model. Producers of Bademler entered the world's largest flower exchange. Bademler Village Agricultural Development Cooperative, supported by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, produced 49 different types of cut flowers for the flower market of the Netherlands, which has a 5 percent share in world flower exports.

“We are following the Netherlands closely”

Bademler Village Agricultural Development Cooperative President Murat Kulaç said that the cooperative, which has been working actively for 60 years, stood up with the contracted production support provided by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, “The cooperative model in Izmir has set an example for Turkey. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality supported the cooperatives by giving them 'life water' in the most difficult times. The flower giants of the world heard of our reputation and began to cooperate with us. We are now closely following the Netherlands,” he said.

Production and export capacity will increase

Murat Kulaç said that their work has become easier thanks to the World City İzmir Association (DİDER), which was established to promote İzmir better abroad, and said, “In February, we planted the seeds of 5 cut flower species requested from us by the Netherlands in our greenhouse in Bademler. Lisianthus, Tagetes Erekla, Ammi Visnaga. Every day we work diligently to produce higher quality Anrgozinthis and Hypericam flower species. We have already become a brand. The Dutch flower exchange will also be amazed by the quality of the products. In July, our first products will be exhibited on the Dutch stock market. In this way, we will increase our production and export capacity”.
