Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank and Agriculture and Forestry Minister Vahit Kirişci visited Tezkim Tarımsal Kimya factory, which produces citric acid from corn and exports to 90 countries. Stating that he is very happy that citric acid, which Turkey has imported all of before, is produced in Turkey, Minister Varank emphasized that it is strategically very important to produce this product, which is needed in every field from food to cleaning products, in Turkey.

PRODUCTION OF 54 THOUSAND TONES A YEAR

Minister Varank noted that Tezkim Tarımsal Chemistry factory is one of the strategic production facilities for Turkey and said, “We are in the citric acid factory of TEZKİM. The official opening of this factory was made by our President. This is a facility that can produce 54 thousand tons of citric acid per year.” he said.

100K TONS TARGET

Citric acid; Stating that it is included in all products used by citizens from food to cleaning products, Varank said, “It is a raw material that ensures that products are long-lasting or that they are least affected by environmental conditions. We can now produce citric acid, which we imported all from abroad, in Adana, in these TEZKİM facilities. Hopefully, they will increase their current capacity of 54 thousand tons to 100 thousand tons.” used the phrases.

Pointing out that TEZKİM already has a serious export potential, Varank said, “They will have increased this export. Of course, we are happy to see that these facilities and these investments are made in Turkey.” said.

INVESTMENT, EMPLOYMENT, PRODUCTION AND EXPORT

Minister Varank said, “You know in Turkey, we are trying to act with a motto under the leadership of our President. Investment, employment, production and export. Here, this facility of TEZKİM is a facility that meets these four conditions and produces value-added citric acid, which is not produced in Turkey. Of course, we want to continue to pave the way for such investments.” he said.

Noting that TEZKİM is a very important facility especially in the food industry, Varank said, “The food industry has become an industry that has become more and more strategic. Discussions about food continue all over the world. We, as a ministry, will continue to give our support both in facilities like this and in the field of biotechnology. Hopefully, our entrepreneurs will continue to develop Turkey with their investments.” he said.

R&D AND SMART SKIN

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirişci said, “We have become able to obtain so many products from plants like corn that we have come to this point as a result of R&D activities, wisdom and these studies on these subjects. FULL CAPACITY PRODUCTION

TEZKİM Chairman of the Board Ahmet Tezcan stated that they export to 90 countries and said, “We have exports from America to Brazil. Currently, 40 percent of our production is export, 60 percent is the domestic market. There is a huge demand for our product. That's why we decided to increase the capacity by 100 percent. Already when we established the facility, we kept the living areas wide so that they would grow approximately 100 percent. Now the capacity increase has started. We are considering commissioning it in the last quarter of 2023.” used his statements.
