The New Stop of Astronomy Enthusiasts, Van

Sky observation activities, where TÜBİTAK brings together sky enthusiasts of all ages, will be held in Van after Diyarbakır Zerzevan Castle. The event, which will be held on the shores of Lake Van between 3-5 July, will be the meeting point of astronomy enthusiasts from all over Turkey. During the event, which aims to increase the interest of young people in space with the vision of the National Space Program, seminars, competitions and many activities related to astronomy will be held.

THEY WILL LOOK AT THE SKY FROM EDREMIT

While the reflections of the observation event, which brings together thousands of Diyarbakır residents of all ages in the historical Zerzevan Castle, continue, this time Van will bring together astronomy, technology and nature enthusiasts. Fidanlık Park on the shores of Lake Van in Edremit district will be the new stop for sky lovers from 3 to 7 for 70 days.

IN TUBITAK COORDINATION

Activity; It will be organized by the ministries of Industry and Technology, Youth and Sports, Culture and Tourism under the coordination of TÜBİTAK, with the contributions of Van Governorship, Van Metropolitan Municipality, Eastern Anatolia Development Agency (DAKA), Van Yüzüncü Yıl University and Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA). .

VARANK WILL OPEN

At the event to be opened by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank on July 3, Van Governor Dr. Ozan Balcı, TÜBİTAK President Hasan Mandal and over a thousand young people interested in astronomy will attend with their families.

YOUTH'S INTEREST IN SPACE

In the program, professional and amateur astronomers will have the opportunity to meet the stars by examining the sky. During the event, which aims to increase the interest of young people in space with the vision of the National Space Program, seminars, competitions and many activities related to astronomy will be held.

INTERESTING PRESENTATIONS

After the opening on July 3, under the moderation of the famous TV personality Pelin Çift, Assoc. Dr. Selçuk Topal will talk about his interest in space throughout history in an interview titled "Space from the Past to the Future".

On Monday, July 4, Çanakkale 18 Mart University faculty member Prof. Dr. Faruk Soydugan will give information about the efforts of his people to discover the universe with his presentation "Stars in the Mirrors". Ege University faculty member Prof. Dr. Serdar Evren will shed light on the development of astronomy from the early ages to the present with his presentation titled "Astronomer Between Civilizations".

During the event, where interesting conversations about space will be held, scientists; He will make presentations on topics of interest to the participants on different topics such as exoplanets, light pollution, asteroids transiting close to the ground, and star occultation.

IT WILL CONTINUE WITH ERZURUM AND ANTALYA

The Ministry of Industry and Technology brings together sky enthusiasts of all ages by spreading the TÜBİTAK National Sky Observation Event, which was first initiated by TÜBİTAK Science and Technical Journal in 1998 and held in Antalya Saklıkent, to different cities of Anatolia. Sky Observation Events will be held in Erzurum on 22-24 July, and in Antalya on 18-21 August, following Diyarbakır and Van.
