While Turkey increased its tropical fruit export by 2021 percent to 85 million dollars in 13, tropical fruit exports of 2022 million 7 thousand dollars were realized in the first half of 857.

Saying that Turkey's value-added chain is growing every year, Aegean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters' Association President Hayrettin Aircraft said, “Our rising graph in tropical fruit exports in recent years clearly demonstrates this. In the four-year period from 2018 to 2021, we increased our tropical fruit exports by 225 percent. While our tropical fruit exports in Turkey were 2018 million dollars in 4, 2019 million dollars in 5, 2020 million dollars in 6, we increased our exports to 2021 million dollars in 85 with an 13% jump. We have expanded our product range in tropical fruit by adding products such as dragon fruit, passionfruit, carambola, papaya, mangost, guava pear, mango, pineapple, coconut, blueberry, kumquat, which we started with kiwi and avocado.” said.

Explaining that in the first half of 2022, Turkey's tropical fruit exports amounted to 7 million 857 thousand dollars, Uçar continued his words as follows:

“Our kiwi exports, with Russia in the first place, amounted to 5 million 454 thousand dollars. Our exports of mango, where we gained the most momentum, increased from 144 thousand dollars to 1 million 126 thousand dollars. The United Kingdom ranks first in our mango export with 948 thousand dollars. Our blueberry exports, led by Germany, increased from 524 thousand dollars to 761 thousand dollars. While we exported tropical fruits to approximately 2020 countries in 60, we increased this to 2021 countries and regions in 83. We foresee that we can increase our tropical fruit exports to 2022 million dollars by the end of 20.”

Stating that Russia and Romania, Turkey's main markets for fresh fruit and vegetables, maintain their place in the first semi-tropical fruit exports of 2022, Hayrettin Aircraft said, “We have an export of 1 million 467 thousand dollars to Russia and 10 thousand dollars to Romania with an increase of 920 percent. In the EU, the largest consumer market for tropical fruit, we have significantly increased our population since last year. Our exports to the UK increased from 119 thousand dollars to 2022 thousand dollars in the six months of 981 compared to last year. Thus, the UK has become the third country to which we export the most in the first half of 2022. We increased our exports to Germany from 447 thousand dollars to 38 thousand dollars with an increase of 621 percent. Spain also ranks first in our tropical fruit exports with 553 thousand dollars.” he said.
