Cirit, known as the war game played by the Turks since the time they came to Anatolia from Central Asia, and today known as the traditional equestrian sport, is kept alive with the support of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality.

Providing significant support to all branches of sports in Bursa, the Metropolitan Municipality also provides every necessary contribution to the survival of ancestral sports. Under the sponsorship of the Metropolitan Municipality, a Mounted Javelin competition was held in Gölbaşı within the scope of the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day events. Kestel Mounted Javelin and Archery Sports Club and Yıldırım Mounted Javelin Archery Sports Club faced each other in the race, which was held with the aim of keeping the javelin sport alive and introducing it to future generations. Kestel Mounted Javelin and Archery Sports Club won the contest, which attracted great interest from javelin enthusiasts.
