Osmangazi Bridge Captured Vehicle Pass Guarantee on July 8

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that the ordeal of the ferry queue, which lasted for kilometers and hours during the holidays, ended with the Osmangazi and 1915 Çanakkale Bridges, and said: A record was broken with 4 thousand 43 vehicle passes. From the 301 Çanakkale Bridge, it was determined that 8 vehicles were using the bridge on July 80," he said.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a written statement about Osmangazi Bridge and 1915 Çanakkale Bridge. Karaismaioğlu stated that they have implemented projects that add value to Turkey one by one, and pointed out that these projects include the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Osmangazi Bridges.

Expressing that the Istanbul-Izmir Highway covers a total of 384 kilometers, including 42 kilometers of highway and 426 kilometers of connection roads, Karaismailoğlu stated that the route was shortened by 100 kilometers and the Istanbul-Izmir transportation, which was 8,5 hours, decreased to 3,5 hours. Karaismailoğlu pointed out that if the Istanbul-İzmir Highway had not been built, the travel time would have increased up to 13 hours on busy days.

6 MINUTES TO CROSS THE GULF AND OSMANGAZI BRIDGE

Emphasizing that the Osmangazi Bridge constitutes the most important part of the Istanbul-Izmir Highway that connects Istanbul to the Aegean, Karaismailoğlu reminded that the bridge was completed and put into service on July 1, 2016. Karaismailoğlu said, “It took one and a half hours to cross the Gulf by car using the existing road, and 45 to 60 minutes by ferry. On busy days, the waiting time was hours. Now, with the Osmangazi Bridge, the gulf can be crossed in 6 minutes.”

HOURS TIME FERRY QUEUE ENDED

Karaismailoğlu pointed out that significant time savings were achieved and said, “The ferry line, which lasted for hours, especially during the holiday seasons, ended with the Osmangazi Bridge. If Osmangazi Bridge had not been built, the ferries would have reached a level that could not serve due to the increasing number of vehicles and increasing traffic. Our citizens would be condemned to wait for kilometers and hours,” he said.

Stating that the guarantee coverage rate of Osmangazi Bridge, which was used by 4 vehicles on July 43, was 301 percent, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, "The guarantee coverage rate was 108 percent with 5 thousand 43 vehicles passing on July 492, and 109 thousand 6 vehicles on July 49. The guarantee coverage ratio was 453 percent. On July 124, 7 vehicles crossed the Osmangazi Bridge. The guarantee coverage ratio also rose to 64 percent. On the eve of Friday, July 296, there was a significant increase in vehicle mobility. It was determined that a total of 161 thousand 8 vehicles used the bridge. The guarantee coverage ratio increased to 80 percent. In the last 624 months, an average of 202 thousand vehicles used the Osmangazi Bridge. We continue to bring the projects it deserves to our nation with our planned investments.”

14 VEHICLES USED THE ÇANAKKALE BRIDGE ON EVENING DAY

Referring to the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge in his statement, Karaismailoğlu said, “1915 Çanakkale Bridge; Within the scope of the 101-kilometer-long Malkara-Çanakkale Highway, it provides the passage of the Dardanelles between Gallipoli and Lapseki. The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge is the most important crossing point of the Kınalı-Tekirdağ-Çanakkale-Savaştepe Highway, which will enable the completion of the Marmara Highway Ring. 1915 Çanakkale Bridge was one of the most exceptional and prestige projects implemented by our Ministry. As the project of 'best's, 'firsts' and records, it has become one of the landmarks of our country. With the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, which provides uninterrupted highway connection for the first time in history, the strait crossing time has been reduced to 6 minutes. During the holidays, we saw similar scenes in the gulf in Çanakkale. The ferry ordeal that lasted for hours ended with the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge. While 4 thousand 7 vehicles crossed the Çanakkale Bridge on July 31, 8 thousand 14 vehicles used the bridge on July 275. This project, which adds added value to our country, will achieve the guarantee coverage rates, just like the Osmangazi Bridge.
