Over 280 Automobile Brands Attend the China International Auto Show

The China 19th International Auto Show kicked off on Friday, July 15, in Changchun, the capital of the northeastern Chinese province of Jilin. Covering an area of 200 thousand square meters, the fair has nine indoor halls and four outdoor exhibition areas. 155 domestic and foreign automobile brands and 128 companies applied to participate in this fair and exhibit their products. More than ten new energy vehicle brands, including BYD and SAIC Audi, will present their latest and pioneering models to the visitors at the fair.

Changchun local government, on the other hand, will invest 40 million yuan (about $5,9 million) to subsidize private individuals' car purchases. With about 310 million private passenger cars circulating on highways, China is the world's largest automobile market. In 2021, retail sales of automobiles and automobile-related products accounted for 9,9 percent of the country's total retail goods consumption.
