The center, which has a colorful activity program that directs children to art, science and nature, also made families happy.

Limontepe Child and Youth Center (ÇOGEM), opened by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, has become the favorite place of the region in a short time. Both children and families are satisfied with the center.

Gülşah Karadoğan, sociologist working at ÇOGEM, said that there has been a high demand since the day it opened to the center. Karadoğan said, “With our special hobby and branch lessons for different age groups, we aim to enable children to spend their time efficiently during the summer holidays. We support the development of our children in the light of science and art with activities such as guitar, piano, painting and chess. We have 32 trainers. We have provided training to 2021 children since October 345, when the center was put into service. It's been a week since we started summer workshops. Children love this place so much that they want to participate in all activities.”

"I am very lucky"

Children receiving education from Limontepe Child and Youth Center are also happy. Elif Çelik, 11, stated that they had a fun time and said, “Our summer vacation is going very well. We have a lot of fun here and we are very happy. We both take lessons and participate in excursions.”

8-year-old Pelinay Garbage, on the other hand, said that this year's summer vacation was different from other periods and said, “I was very bored at home. I had nothing to deal with. There are many courses in this center. I am very lucky to have such a service in our neighborhood. I love the guitar and piano lessons," he said.

14-year-old Eren Çelik stated that he benefited from the chess and music course and said, “I love playing the piano. It's nice to spend time here. Here are the lessons we didn't see in school. Thanks to the center, we are increasing our performance and talent.”

“We didn't see the ferry”

Seyhan Gümüşbaş, who has three children and takes care of her sister's child, stated that they all came to ÇOGEM and said, “We spent our whole summer at home. This center gives us different experiences. We are developing here not only in terms of education, but also in terms of culture. They organized a ferry trip, my child got on the ferry for the first time. We have never seen a ferry in our lives, nor could we. It is the first time such a building has been established in this neighborhood. This is the first time such a beautiful project has been done for children. We are very pleased. I do not want my children to grow up in a bad environment. My children were introduced to the piano for the first time. He loved his piano lesson. The center, which provides free service to the group between the ages of 7-14, enables children to have an educational, instructive and fun time outside of school, while increasing their knowledge and skills in the fields of science, art and culture.
