Çiğli Municipality takes women from Çiğli to the Cancer Early Diagnosis, Screening and Training Center (KETEM) for preventive tests against breast, colon and cervical cancer.
Within the scope of the practice organized by the Çiğli Municipality Women and Family Services Directorate, women residing in Çiğli can have breast, colon and cervical cancer tests done free of charge. Women who want to have smear, mammography and colon cancer screening are taken to KETEM by buses twice a week, and they are brought back to Çiğli after the necessary procedures are done. There is an age limit of 30 for the smear test, 40 for mammography, and 50 for colon cancer screening. President Gümrükçü: “Early diagnosis is important”
Emphasizing that early diagnosis is of vital importance in the fight against cancer, Çiğli Mayor Utku Gümrükçü said, “Women should have cancer screening tests done after a certain age without interruption. As Çiğli Municipality, we started an application to support women in this regard. We will bring the women who want to be tested to KETEM.
