İzmir Metropolitan Municipality is renovating Gürçeşme Street, one of the main arteries providing vehicle entry and exit from the city center to Buca. Scalping the city's 30-year-old problem, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality will complete its works to increase the 2-lane road to 3 lanes in September.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has completed 30 percent of the project "Expanding Gurcesme Street", which has been on the city's agenda for nearly 60 years. The width of Gürçeşme Street, which is one of the most important arteries connecting both Gürçeşme and its surrounding districts of Konak district, and Buca's city center, is being increased from 10 meters to 20 meters. In addition, the retaining wall and stairs in the area are being renewed.

Current road leads to 3 lanes

Within the scope of the works that will significantly ease the entry and exit of vehicles in Buca, the Department of Science Affairs and İZBETON teams completed the production of 800 meters long stone wall, 5 stairs, tile stone and border in an area of ​​​​300 square meters. A total of 4 square meters of double-sided pavement and lighting production continues. After the arrangement works are completed, asphalt will be laid on the street.

Approximately 17 million lira expropriation was made

Within the scope of the project of expanding Gürçeşme Street, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has expropriated 215 million 16 thousand TL for 845 real estates.
