The Liver Kebab and Curtained Liver Kebab event was attended by Diyarbakır Commodity Exchange President Engin Yeşil, Diyarbakır Chamber of Craftsmen and Craftsmen Alican Ebedinoğlu, Bar Association President Nahit Eren, DISIAD President Nurullah Edemen, Yenişehir Chamber of Agriculture President Süleyman İskenderoğlu and many NGO representatives.

'WE AIM TO INCREASE OUR REGISTERED PRODUCT NUMBER TO OVER 100'

Diyarbakir Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mehmet Kaya said that they have started work to register the products since the middle of 2020, and said: "We made 64 applications for the first year. With the Diyarbakir liver kebab and Diyarbakir curtain liver kebab we bought recently, our number of registered products has reached 48. In the coming period, we will have applications for our new products. We aim to increase the number of registered products to over 100 in a few years. Diyarbakir liver has proven itself.

While we are registering our products as the Chamber, we are also continuing our studies and projects for the commercialization of the products. We designed our old historical service building as a gastronomy center. Our products with Geographical Indications will take place in the Gastronomy Innovation Center and will be put into service in the near future. Our Chamber organizes Agriculture and Food fairs every year, in this context, our registered products have been constantly promoted and exhibited in national fairs for several years. With this and similar projects, Diyarbakir will contribute to the economy, which will fully grow within the scope of geographically indicated products, with new sectors and business lines.”

'THIS WORK WILL CONTINUE'

Stating that the EU registration processes will also be completed in the coming period, Kaya continued his words as follows: “In this context, work has started for the Karacadağ rice and Boğazkere grape that we determined in the first stage. An application was made for Karacadağ rice. Technical arrangements have been completed for Boğazkere grape. Applications will be made as a result of the preliminary evaluations made through the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey and TPI. In the upcoming period, EU registration processes will also be completed. For our geographically indicated products, our chamber has established a strategy for the entire process and carries out the process step by step. We continue on our way by actively involving local actors in these works.”
