The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced that the new air transport agreement was initialed after 71 years after the negotiations between Turkey and Israel, and said, “It has become possible to fly to Israel from any point in Turkey.”
In the written statement made by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, it was stated that civil aviation negotiations were held between Turkey and Israel on July 4 in Istanbul, and a signing ceremony was held via teleconference yesterday for the Memorandum of Understanding, which wrote down the agreed issues.
Emphasizing that the issues that will strengthen the cooperation between the two countries in the field of air transportation and aviation security have been signed, it has been agreed to establish a working group for additional security measures to be taken at our airports so that Israeli airline companies can fly. Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation Prof. Dr. Kemal Yüksek and General Director of the Israel Civil Aviation Authority, Joel Feldschuh, initialed the new air transport agreement to replace the 1951 air transport agreement. With the agreement initialed, there are 5 departure points in our country, namely Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Izmir and Dalaman, for the flights of Turkish airline companies to Israel. With the new agreement, it has become possible to fly to Israel from any point in Turkey.
