13th International Istanbul Opera Festival Has Ended

Organized for the 13th time by the General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet, the International Istanbul Opera Festival bid farewell to art lovers with the performance of “Abduction from the Palace” staged at AKM.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera “Abduction from the Palace”, which has been staged at the festival every year since the first year it was held as a festival tradition, was also the closing piece of the 13th International Istanbul Opera Festival.

The piece, composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, was staged by the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet with the direction of Caner Akın. The work, which was presented with a different direction in which references to the global epidemic were adhered to, won the appreciation of art lovers.

In the performance, accompanied by the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra under the direction of Orchestra Conductor Zdravko Lazarov, the famous ballet dancer Tan Sağtürk choreographed the piece, Olcay Engin Kaymaz designed the decor and costumes, and Taner Aydın designed the lighting.

Ufuk Toker as Belmonte, Umut Tingür as Osmin, Ceren Aydın as Konstanze, Işılay Meriç Karataş as “Blondchen”, Serkan Bodur as “Pedrillo” in the “Abduction from the Palace” opera, accompanied by Istanbul State Opera Ballet Choir they were on stage.

13 Tenor Concert, Tosca, IV, staged as part of the 7th International Istanbul Opera Festival. The operas of Murat, Carmen and the Abduction from the Palace left unforgettable moments in the minds of art lovers.
