The 10 Longest Yachts in the World

World's Longest Yacht
The 10 Longest Yachts in the World

Breaking records is fun. Especially when it comes to building the tallest, widest, longest and largest superyachts in the world. Each of these superlatives technically has its own kind when it comes to shipbuilding. Number two of this list is technically smaller and longer than the first. And one of the yachts on this list is both the oldest and largest on the planet. It can be confusing, but this is important when boating for people who want to set a world record. We researched the longest yacht for you…

Can you imagine seeing a superyacht? Rethink your place. The ten largest yachts in the world for 2021 are listed below. It's hard to tell the difference between a cruise ship and a superyacht when they go this high. As you can see below, the German shipyard Lürssen built most of the top 10 yachts and dominated the list.

10. SAILING YACHT A – 142 meters (2017 model)

SAILING YACHT A

In the future, SAILING YACHT A will be the world's first private sailing motor yacht. Nobiskrug was manufactured in 2017. A state-of-the-art superyacht with features such as an underwater observation pod, hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system and cutting-edge navigation.

The three masts of the luxury sailing yacht are the world's largest and most heavily loaded freestanding composite structures. The almost invisible windows give this yacht a futuristic look while providing no glimpse of the interior, which remains a mystery. Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko is the owner of SAILING YACHT A.

9. EL MAHROSA – 145 meters (1865 model)

AL MAHROUSA

Built in 1865, this 145-metre Samuda Brothers yacht, EL MAHROUSA, ranks first in history and records. This yacht was designed for the Ottoman governor of Egypt and appeared at the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869.

Necessarily, it has undergone several upgrades over the years, including the replacement of the paddle motors with turbine driven propellers in 1905. A telegram was also made in 1912. In 1872 EL MAHROUSA was extended by 40 feet and again in 1905 by 17 feet. The yacht is originally in the maintenance of the Egyptian Navy and is occasionally used as a Presidential Yacht. It is the world's oldest operating superyacht and the ninth tallest superyacht.

RINCE ABDULAZIZ

The 147-metre PRINCE ABDULAZIZ motor yacht was designed by Helsingor Vaerft and delivered in 1984. For many years it was the largest yacht in the world in terms of length and height. But we know it can be as luxurious as the TITANIC.

4. DUBAI – 162 meters (2006 model)

DUBAI

Make room for DUBAI, a 161-metre yacht with a non-linear construction history. Blohm + Voss and Lürssen collaborated on the design of this superyacht in 1998. However, the bid was suspended due to a skeletal superstructure.

The hull was sold to the Dubai government and the project was restarted under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Dubai ruler) and Platinum Yachts. The yacht was completed in 2006. Seven decks, helipad, submarine garage, nightclub, theater and 70-foot-wide atrium are just some of the highlights. DUBAI has a capacity of 24 people.

FULK AL SALAMAH is a project that has been kept secret since its inception, but little known about it.

AZZAM

AZZAM is the longest private yacht in the world with a length of 180 meters. Owned by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, the mega yacht was built by Lürssen Yachts in 2013. It was built at a cost of more than $600 million.

AZZAM has a width of 20,8 meters (68 feet) and an unusually shallow (14 feet) depth of 4,3 meters. Nauta Design created the exterior of this ship to be aerodynamic while being smaller than it was. Over long distances, 9.000 kW MTU engines propel it at 18 knots, with a top speed of 33 knots.

The longest private yacht in the world, AZZAM can accommodate 36 guests and up to 80 crew.
