Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler stated that they have made important investments for the development of mountaineering tourism in the city. President Güler stated that especially with the renovation works carried out in the Yoroz City Forest, this place has become a frequent destination for holidaymakers, especially nature lovers, bicycle and ATV enthusiasts, and those interested in sports such as mountaineering and rock climbing.
Located in Saraycık Neighborhood of Altınordu district of Ordu and the Mayor of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Dr. The Yoroz Urban Forest at an altitude of 2006, which was declared as the Urban Forest in June 930 during the period of Mehmet Hilmi Güler's Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, took on a completely different identity with the works carried out by the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality. Yoroz City Forest is flooded by local and foreign tourists after the latest works.

Stating that they have carried out important works for the development of mountaineering sport in Ordu, President Güler emphasized that as a result of the studies carried out, Ordu has become a leader in this field.
Evaluating the work done in the Yoroz City Forest, Mayor Güler made the following statements in his statement:
“In Ordu, mountaineering tourism was not developed enough and did not receive the value it deserves. In order to break this and become the leader in this field, we have done important work in the Yoroz Urban Forest. First of all, we renewed the worn walking steps here. Afterwards, the work of placing benches and picnic tables on the bicycle path, horse safari tracks and walking track, which provides transportation to an area close to the summit and is closed to vehicle traffic except for emergencies, was completed. In Yoroz, as a final process, the construction of a viewing terrace to the summit point has also started. At the zenith, where the teams are working feverishly, the works will come to an end with the installation of the watchtower, seating areas, parking lot and WC, as well as the landscaping. Yoroz City Forest, which has become more attractive as a result of the works carried out, will host local and foreign tourists, providing accommodation here and an important opportunity for those who want to climb. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we have done everything necessary in this regard. Our goal is to contribute to the development of mountaineering sports in our province and to ensure the development of tourism.”
