The long-awaited Kartepe Cable Car Project has finally started to work. Turkey's first domestic cable car line is planned to start operations in 2023.

Another step has been taken in the cable car project, which Kocaeli residents are eagerly waiting for. After the tender process in the Kartepe Cable Car Project, the works started yesterday. Derbent Neighborhood Headman Erdal Baş gave the good news from his social media account.

After the cancellation of the tender for the Kartepe Cable Car Project, implemented by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality within the scope of the Industry Cooperation Program (SIP) of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the tender was finally made in March; The partnership of Grand and Yapı Doppelmayr Seilbahnen received the job with an offer of 335 million TL. The contract was signed on June 9, and the company took delivery of the project area. The work for the cable car project, which is expected to be completed within the next year, has started as of yesterday.

CARRY 1500 PEOPLE PER HOUR

Turkey's first domestic cable car line will run between Derbent and Kuzuyayla. The cable car line will be 4 thousand 695 meters. In the project where 2 stations will take place, 10 cabins for 73 people each will serve. The elevation distance on the cable car line with a capacity of 1500 people per hour will be 1090 meters. Accordingly, the starting level will be 331 meters and the arrival level will be 1421 meters. The distance between the two stations will be exceeded in 14 minutes. The cable car line is aimed to be completed and put into service in 2023.
