The groundbreaking ceremony of the Van Ring Road was held with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that the traffic load in the city will be relieved significantly and the border gates will be reached in a much shorter time, with the opening of the Van Ring Road, and said, “We will put the Van Ring Road into the service of our people in the centennial of our Republic. When our ring road is completed; In a year, we will save 434 million liras in total," he said.

The foundation of the Van Ring Road was laid with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, noted that during the 20-year AK Party governments, without separating the east and the west, Turkey has gone through an era with the investments made in the field of transportation and communication. We inaugurated the Zarova Bridge. We launched Türksat 6B into space. We put the Konya-Karaman High Speed ​​​​Train Line into service. Zonguldak-Kilimli Road and Prof. Dr. We opened the Teoman Duralı Tunnels. We put the 5 Çanakkale Bridge and Çanakkale-Malkara Highway into the service of the world. We brought Malatya Ring Road, which is the transit point of 1915 provinces, to our country. With the Phaselis Tunnels, we developed Antalya's safe transportation infrastructure. And we brought the Rize-Artvin Airport, which is one of the few works of art with its engineering features, which is pointed out in the world, to our region and to Eurasia.”

HIGHWAY INVESTMENTS IN VAN INCREASED 30 TIMES

Emphasizing that the attention shown to the country in general in investments is shown in Van, Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows;

“As in all other areas, we have increased our transportation and communication investments in Van many times over. throughout Van; split path length; We took it from 36 kilometers and increased it 15 times to 577 kilometers. Highway investment expenditures in Van; we have increased it approximately 30 times to 12 billion 454 million liras. In the period of our governments; We put into service 4 separate tunnels with a total length of approximately 3 meters. The total length of the 70 bridges we put into service has reached 2 meters. Today, with the honor of our President, we will lay the foundation of another beautiful and beneficial service in Van. We have designed our Van Ring Road, which will carry the burden of regional and international road traffic, as 900 kilometers. After the 41-kilometer section that we started to build before, we started the work on the remaining 10-kilometer section. Our Van Ring Road Project; It starts from Edremit, continues east of Van city center and connects to Erciş Road. Our 31×2 lane road will be constructed in the divided road standard.”

CITY TRAFFIC LOAD WILL RELIEVE

In project scope; Noting that there are 7 multi-storey intersections, 2 underpass crossroads and 1 railway crossing, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “With the commissioning of our Van Ring Road, the traffic load in the city will be significantly relieved. It will provide us with comfortable transportation and safety of life and property. In addition, we will reach the Gürbulak, Kapıköy, Esendere, Umurlu and Üzümlü border gates in a much shorter time on our ring road in the North-South and East-West directions. Thus, we will increase the trade carried out through Van, that is, our exports and employment opportunities in our region. When our ring road is completed; In one year, we will save 363 million liras from time, 71 million liras from fuel, and a total of 434 million liras of savings. Carbon emissions will also decrease by 15 thousand tons. We will put the Van Ring Road, with a project cost of 1 billion 718 million liras, into the service of our people in the centennial year of our Republic. In addition, the total cost of 11 ongoing highway projects across Van is 6,5 billion liras.
